1. Declutter

This may seem like one of the most boring tasks to be tasked with however, decluttering is essential to achieving a quick sale. There is no doubt that over time, homeowners buy all sorts of objects and things that get placed in cupboards and draws and therefore are then forgot about.

So, get cracking as those overfilled draws! The best way to declutter is by creating piles of things that you don’t need. One pile to send items to charity, the other to go into the bin. In the short term, this may feel like it isn’t worth it. Although, in the long run, it will help you move out of your property as you will not have to pack up as much.

When it comes to buyers viewing your property, try to have personal items tided away as the buyer will want to see your home as a blank canvas. if you have other objects that are in the wrong place, try to put them back in their original home so the house has a flow to it.

If you find that some of your clutter is useful clutter and you want to keep it, finding new storage solutions is always a good idea. If a property is over cluttered, it can really off put buyers when they walk around. Having storage spaces will allow them to walk around freely and make rooms feel larger. A great place some forget about where to store items is underneath a bed. Putting things under there already boxed can stop a seller from having to repack.

2. DIY

When you read this title, it may spring to mind a DIY job that you have been putting to the bottom of the job list every time. Or maybe, you haven’t had the time to fix the problem. Whatever the reason is, now is the time to get fixing!

To get started, walk around the property looking at what is broken or needs fixing. List these down and then you can tick them off one by one after you have fixed them.

These days lots of problems you can fix yourself. There is a variety of online videos and content available to help fix even the smallest problems. All these small fixes will add up and convey a well-maintained property. Henceforth, this will make a property seem more so appealing

3. Painting

It may seem like the last thing on anyone’s mind; however, painting is one of the cheapest options. None wants to buy a property that has chipped paint on the walls. Adding a fresh lick of paint can give a brand-new feeling to any property.

When it comes to selecting colours, choosing ones that are neutral and light can make a room seem larger, more so inviting and stop a property from looking outdated.

If you decide that wallpapering is for you, then choose paper that is low-key. Try to paper this onto accent walls instead of a whole room, by doing so will help all the rooms blend well.
